At Arch Greenhouses last weekend, I picked up a copy of the Edmonton Naturalization Group’s book Go Wild! which is a very useful little book if you are interested in adding native plants to your yard. It has some general suggestions about planting, etc. but the bulk of it is listings of about 35 native wildflowers (and a few grasses): preferences for growing conditions, how to grow from seed and collect seed, plus the standard info for a gardening book like height, bloom time/colour, etc.
In addition to this, Go Wild! lists another 10 or so “rampant wildflowers” that it charmingly deems “over-enthusiastic and rambunctious.”
